OUR MISSION —Part teach-in, part festival the NYC Climate Convergence will be taking place in the run-up to the People’s Climate March.  Our objective is to explore the root causes of climate change and to strengthen bonds within the climate movement before the march and beyond.

There will be outdoor and in door space available for groups and individuals to hold workshops, speak-outs and trainings on Saturday, September 20 and on the morning of September 21.

We are also hosting two plenary events on the evenings of Fri Sept 19 and 20.

Keynote speakers already scheduled to attend the Convergence include, Bolivian water warrior, Oscar Olivera; Jacqui Patterson with the NAACP’s Climate Action Initiative; and author and food justice campaigner Vanada Shiva.

We are partnering with LUNGS, Loisaida United Neighborhood Gardens, who will be providing space for teach-ins in their gardens during their annual Harvest Arts Festival on the Lower East Side in New York. There are several in door locations lined-up as well.
